What is 'Pokemon GO'? Game Concept Explanation for Dummies [VIDEO]; May Help Encourage Exercise and Social Interaction
Get ready to travel in between the real and the virtual world. Pokemon GO is here to get you somewhere with the help of the cyber world.
Basic Game Guide
Pokemon GO relies mostly on your phone's GPS and camera to work. Walking around, your avatar is on the phone and at the same time you'll see something that resembles Google Maps. Three types of icons are seen on the map, these are, Pokestops, Gym and the Pokemons themselves.
Pokestops are linked to real-world locations and is like a pit stop where you can find items which you need to get. Items at the Pokestop can be caught if you are near the spot. Items can include Poke balls, eggs, which will hatch into Pokemons if incubated long enough and Incense which gives a chance to find Pokemon for a limited time only.
The eggs need to be incubated for a while so to hatch to a much better Pokemon. This also needs for you to walk around until you have travelled the right distance for it to hatch. Larger distance means it will hatch into a rarer Pokemon.
Levelling up is important in the game because in order to get to the Gym, you need to be at level 5. Once this is achieved, you may battle with other players.
Server Status Check
The Pokemon Company and Niantic's Pokemon GO has been a success with most of the smartphone owners downloading the free app. Thus, with this there may be times that the server is down. Players can actually check on the status of the server so to continue playing.
Since a lot has been getting the app, there are times that the server has a downtime. However, this is a small thing to worry about because statuses can be checked depending on the error from the phone.
Pokemon GO not only seems fun but may help encourage people to be on the out doors either walking or connecting with others. The game is free to download from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
