Fans of the hit thriller series "Dexter" will be happy to see what the "Dexter" EP is up to.
Clyde Phillips, the showrunner of "Dexter," is said to have made a series that will appeal to "Dexter" fans. After working on the series "Nurse Jackie," Phillips will be releasing a new show titled "Feed The Beast."
The new AMC drama will tell the story of two New York restaurateurs. It will focus on family drama, grief and mob conflicts. It is said to star David Schwimmer, who will play the role of Tommy Moran. Jim Sturgess will take on the role of chef Dion.
According to Den Of Geek, the fans of "Dexter" will enjoy "Feed The Best" as it will bring an interesting perspective to the crimes in New York. The setting is said play a significant part in the upcoming show as the Big Apple will be going through several industrial changes. It is based on an original Danish series, though Phillips is said to bring his own twist.
Phillips explained that his adaptation will be different as it will use 430 minutes of air time as opposed to just 200 minutes presented by the original series. He also said that the diversity will bring a new perspective.
He explained, "We have the Polish mob, the Greek chef, and an Irish sommelier. We have a black wife, black kid, racist father, Cuban girlfriend, a Muslim cook and lesbian line cook. That's what this town is like. If we're going to diversify, how about portraying a racist as a real racist?"
Meanwhile, Phillips stated that the story will feature an intriguing narrative that the audience could relate to.
"So we needed to have the story move quickly. We need the audience to understand these characters and their dilemmas, their challenges, their dreams, but most importantly their flaws. And then challenge for me is how do I get you to not watch something else? Part of that is star power. Schwimmer and Sturgess... amazing. Part of that is the promotion the network does, which is great. Part of it is identification of the characters," Phillips explained.
"Feed The Beast" is expected to air this Jun. 5 on AMC.
