Why Was WWE Star Emma Released?

The release of superstar Emma from World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has puzzled many, especially with how she has been performing recently.

Emma's most recent stints involve matches against Asuka. She lost to the former NXT champion at the Tables, Ladders and Chairs (TLC) event last Oct. 22.

Although she was defeated, Emma put up quite a fight and showed that she is still a force to be reckoned with and one who will not be easily beaten.

WWE was seemingly building her up as a contender to look out for in the women's division, which is why many are confused as to why Emma was released from WWE.

However, Bleacher Report believes that her departure from the company does not mean that it is the end for her. In fact, the publication says that this could actually open more possibilities and opportunities for Emma.

At least this is the case for some superstars like Drew McIntyre. With Emma's acclaimed in-ring performance, the wrestler could easily build a bigger name for herself.

While many fans are upset about the turn of events for Emma, new WWE star Lio Rush took to Twitter to suggest that her release does not come as a surprise to him. In a now deleted tweet, he wrote:

I guess these are the things that happen when you're not TRULY ready for Asuka.

This immediately led to some serious backlash as fans and superstars like Bryce Wyatt and NXT's Peyton Royce reminding him to know his place. Rush ultimately apologized, saying:

At the end of the day, there's a certain level of respect within professional wrestlers in the sports & ENTERTAINMENT industry that is noted within peers.

With that being said, Emma I respect you and everything you've done for our business. It saddens me that the "controversial tweet" got completely blown out of proportion and looked at in a very insensitive way.

As a family man with a 4 year [old] son and expecting another, I would never laugh or mock the fact of someone loosing there [sic] job because of how it can affect self person and there [sic] families.

Whatever the situation may be regarding the release, You're an amazing performer and respected athlete by yours truly and I'm sure you will excel beyond [expectations].

To my fans who may have seen this as inappropriate as well as Emma's fans, I apologize and I love you ALL regardless of the responses. On Behalf of myself and the WWE Goodluck!
