Will There Be A 'Blade 4'? Wesley Snipes Reveals Talks With Marvel
Rumors and reports that the notorious Daywalker may once again be stepping into the big screen have started swirling around. This was after Wesley Snipes shared a small tidbit that he has met recently with Marvel executives and among the things they discussed was the movie franchise "Blade."
A Deadline report cited an interview conducted with Snipes at the recently concluded San Diego Comic-Con. Although the interview was mainly about Snipes' NBC TV series "The Blacklist," Snipes mentioned that he hoped that the questions during his panel would not be centered on whether "he will be doing Blade 4 or not." He then shared that he and Marvel had an initial discussion about this.
"The project is controlled by Marvel and we did have a really productive and a wonderful meeting and we discussed a number of things. I don't know where it's on their schedule at this point, that hasn't been decided. I guess it's still up in the air," he said.

Marvel owns the rights to the franchise, and according to another report in Screen Rant, the film was in fact Marvel's first box office hit when it was released in 1998, with Snipes playing the lead role as Eric "Blade" Brooks, a human/vampire hybrid who was able to walk among humans during the daylight in order to protect them from the dark forces that threaten humankind.
The report also said that given Marvel's recent success in franchises, be it on the big screen or the small screen, it may be considering what it can do with one of its old IPs.
Snipes went on by saying that "Blade" is not the only project that he can collaborate on with Marvel.
"If we don't do a Blade 4 or something else with Marvel, we'll do something else. We have some other characters and some other concepts that are going to be just as exciting and hopefully just as successful," the actor said.
The report also said that the big screen may not be the only option for the character and its dark, R-rated stories. With Marvel's success with "Daredevil" on Netflix and its plans for similar stories like "Punisher," this option might be more feasible.
