Windows 10 News: Microsoft Forcing Everyone Onto Windows 10

Microsoft will now force everyone with older Windows version to get Windows 10, whether they like it or not.

According to London Free Press, Windows users who didn't upgrade yet will be surprised to know that Windows 10 has already been downloaded onto their devices. The website said it's one of Microsoft's "aggressive" campaign to put Windows 10 on as many machines they can. However, users can rest assured that the tech company will not automatically install the update, but will just be downloaded and readied for installation. For those who are curious about what the update will bring, the website also listed the benefits of the new operating system.

One of the benefits of using Windows 10 is the ability for users to run their Windows devices all together. An example is buying an app that can be run from a phone, PC, or an Xbox console. The new operating system also allows users easier use of OneDrive for storage and Skype for communications.

According to the Windows 10 Wiki page, the new software also provides users tons of improvements from the apps they got on Windows 8.1. There's also the Xbox Live integration, the benefits of having a personal assistant called Cortana, and a new browser called Edge, which has replaced Internet Explorer. Everyday users of Windows devices can definitely enjoy these advantages for free, if they decide to install the upgrade.

However, upgrading old devices with the new OS doesn't equal speed, especially if they have slower processors. According to Inquistr, the entire installation can take around 3.5 GB to 6 GB of the device's storage, so for those who find themselves not happy with the installation, they can revert back to their original operating system within 31 days from the date they've installed Windows 10. Unfortunately, using the "Recovery" option would mean losing the previously installed apps before Windows 10, so they need to be re-installed.
