Windows Mixed Reality News: Everything to Know About Microsoft's Blend of VR and AR

Microsoft teamed up with other tech giants, such as Samsun, Acer, Asus, Lenovo, and HP in order to get the development of the Windows Mixed Reality underway. To experience what the gadget has to offer, fans will have to purchase a head-mounted display, which were developed by the companies previously mentioned. Navigation in the virtual world will require a Microsoft-made motion controller or Xbox One controllers.

Prices for the Windows Mixed Reality will start from $329. The price tag will vary depending on the manufacturer, with the Asus version being the most expensive at approximately $530. Companies have also released the pre-order dates, and fans are encouraged to check their preferred manufacturer's dates in order to find out how to go about getting their hands on the Windows Mixed Reality.

The rise of virtual reality (VR) is one of the most celebrated developments in modern day technology. According to a review by Digital Trends, the Windows Mixed Reality will be equipped with Cortana to help users figure out how to navigate. 20,000 applications will have support for the MR. Although there are still some rough edges to work on, including the point where VR and AR meets, the Windows MR seems to be a promising move to bring the digital world into the users' living rooms. With just a few days before the release date, Microsoft will have to work on integrating the AR part better.

The Windows Mixed Reality will be released on Oct. 17, regardless of manufacturer.
