'Witches of East End' News: Madchen Amick Talks Season 2 Finale, Show Awaiting Renewal for Third Season
Season 2 of "Witches of East End" wrapped up with a two-hour finale on Oct. 5, and Madchen Amick, who plays Wendy Beauchamp on the show, spoke with TVLine about the finale and the possibility of a third season.
In the finale, Wendy gives up her last life for Tommy (Ignacio Serricchio), and Amick spoke about the relationship between the two characters.
"It has been really great, hasn't it?" said Amick to TVLine. "Even back when we did the chemistry test together, and [Serricchio] is a great actor. Tommy can throw the attitude right back at Wendy; they wanted to give her a relationship that has more meaning, and I'd like to keep exploring that."
"Witches of East End" is currently awaiting renewal for a third season, and following the season 2 finale on Sunday, Jenna Dewan-Tatum took to Twitter to thank fans for the support and vowed to share "when there's a definite 3rd season."
"Thank you to all the amazing cast, crew and fans of #WitchesofEastEnd! It was an amazing season!! Thanks for watching and loving the finale … And for everyone asking, will let you know if and when there's a definite 3rd season! Thanks for all your passion," Dewan-Tatum wrote.
According to Cartermatt, the season 2 finale's rating could help the show get greenlit for a renewal as it drew 1.1 million viewers and a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic. However, the show lost 600,000 viewers from the season 1 finale.
If the show does get a third season, there is a possibility that a third Beauchamp sister will make her debut on the show, and Amick said that this character could be plotting revenge against the rest of the Beauchamp family.
"There is that looming idea of a kind of a bad character down in hell plotting revenge on us," said Amick. "We're just getting it on all sides. Hashtag witch problems!"
