Wladimir Klitschko vs Tyson Fury: Fight Preview, Schedule, and More

Wladimir Klitschko and his brother Vitali have dominated the heavyweight division in boxing in recent memory. There never has been a single contender out there who can rightfully claim to have threatened the reign of the Ukrainian brothers. One good reason why they're seemingly unbeatable is because of their height advantage against most opponents. But Saturday's scheduled heavyweight championship fight between Wladimir and British challenger Tyson Fury has the makings of an upset. For one, Fury is coming into this fight as the bigger fighter, but not necessarily the better one.

Fury is coming into this fight with lofty predictions, but he should be worried about all those other fighters before him who tried to talk trash, eventually losing to Klitschko once they're inside the ring. But there are two things going right for the British boxer in this one: he's really tall (taller than the champion) and the fact that he's more than a decade younger.

The 27-year-old has an impressive record to show, 24-0, with 18 of those wins coming by way of knockout. He is currently ranked no. 3 by Ring Magazine. In essence, he's the most deserving heavyweight fighter to warrant a matchup against Klitschko.

Klitschko never earned the level of respect and distinction he deserves in the industry. That's probably because his style is not something that mainstream and casual boxing fans loves to see. But it's actually unfair to label the Ukrainian giant as a boring fighter because with a professional record of 64-3, he actually knocked out 53 opponents so far. His KO ratio is something only a handful of fighters can boast.

The fight will be held in Germany, which Klitschko considers as his second home. It means that the crowd for this fight is definitely on his side. But the thing is the rest of the world might actually be interested in seeing the challenger winning this one to give the heavyweight division another star.
