'Wolverine 3' Rumors: 'X-Men' Cast Members Rumored to Appear in Movie

Logan is one of the most iconic names in the comic books and big screens, and when Hugh Jackman announced that "Wolverine 3" will be his last take on the blades, fans were disheartened.

However, Jackman has said multiple times that he wants to give loyal fans a movie that they will never forget and he is determined to bring his performance in the ultimate level that fans have never seen him in.

As fans already know, the "Les Miserables" star is working on the film script with director James Mangold so there are scarce details about the plot yet. On the other hand, fans and outlets who have been following the widely acclaimed franchise have started speculating about what the movie will be about.

Reports started emerging in mid-year of 2015 that "Wolverine 3" will be based on the 2008 story by Mark Millar and artist Steve McNiven, "Old Man Logan." Fans created the connection between Jackman's farewell announcement and the comic book's story, which depicts the end of Logan's term as a hero.

In the comic books, Logan, who has finally reached his old and ripe age, will be forced out of his retirement and will have to say good-bye temporarily to his lonely and silent life as an old man. He will be in a journey toward destroying all supervillains to bring peace to the world once more. While this story is one that will surely interest moviegoers, the theory remains as it is until Jackman gives a solid confirmation.

As for the cast, it is believed that Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart), Rogue (Anna Paquin), Mystique (Rebecca Romjin), Storm (Halle Berry), Magneto (Ian McKellen), and Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) will be joining Jackman for his final performance as the wolf-man.

It should be noted, though, that it is only Stewart who has been confirmed to appear in the movie, which means fans will have to wait for further announcements about the movie's official cast.

"Wolverine 3" is expected to release on March 3, 2017.
