Wonder Woman Enters The Picture In New Trailer For 'Batman v Superman'
Just in case getting to see two iconic superheroes in one movie - or one trailer - wasn't enough for some fans out there, Warner Brothers and DC Comics went all in, uniting Wonder Woman with Batman and Superman in the second trailer for "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."
The three-minute long trailer showed a series of confrontations between Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne and, later, the Man of Steel and the Caped Crusader, right through to a major fight scene at the end pitting the three superheroes with the monstrosity released by Lex Luthor.
Unlike the other "Batman v Superman" trailer which focused on the tension between the two heroes and showed the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel as mortal enemies, in this trailer, Batman and Superman appear to be joining forces and getting ready to face a common foe. Upon Wonder Woman's entrance, Superman turns to Batman, asking, "Is she with you?" to which Batman replies, "I thought she was with you."
The trailer also gives viewers a clue into the reason for Wonder Woman joining the melee in the Zack Snyder-helmed film. The Amazonian princess may have left her homeland to help the superheroes battle Doomsday, the Lex Luthor creation that appears to be the larger threat that unites the heroes and drives them to create the Justice League.
The action-packed trailer has received some criticism, with fans saying that it has given too much of the plot away. Ben Child of The Guardian said that Snyder "had better have some more twists up his sleeve, because he's giving a lot away here," but notes that fans have yet to see Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and the Sons of Superman. Other characters, including Victor Stone/Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and General Swanwick (Harry Lennix) were not in the trailer as well.
"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
