'Wonder Woman' Movie News: Filming of Amazonian Warrior Princess First Big Screen Feature Wraps Up
A little more than a year before it hits the theaters, Gal Gadot's "Wonder Woman" solo movie has finally wrapped up its filming. This piece of information was confirmed by Gadot herself who posted on her Twitter account that shooting for the film is done and thanked everybody involved in it.
It was in November last year when shooting for the first ever big screen live action feature of the Amazonian Warrior Princess began in London. From then on, various photos from production have surfaced on the Internet, teasing the fans of the DC female superhero of what they can expect from the movie, as per Cinema Blend.
While it is true that "Wonder Woman" will follow the origin of the character, it will not only focus on Themycira, the fictional island nation of the Amazons. Based on the photos that surfaced online, those anticipating the movie can already expect that it will feature World War 1 scenes taken at the Trafalgar Square in London. There were also earlier reports claiming that the movie will also include Wonder Woman in the modern times, specifically the period that precedes her appearance in the just-concluded "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" movie.
Joblo reported last year that "Wonder Woman" will feature two major time settings: World War 1 and modern times. The entertainment website alleged that the movie will involve two main villains, Circe and Ares, The God of War. It claimed that the very plot of the movie will involve Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor in modern times trying to avert the sorceress Circe's attempt to manipulate government officials to ignite World War III. Joblo suggested that, at one point in the movie, Wonder Woman will explain to Steve Trevor how she defeated Circe and Ares during the World War I,which is believed to be the part that will feature flashbacks from the said period.
It is also alleged that the end of the movie will feature Ben Affleck's Batman, who, all along, has been observing Wonder Woman's second battle with Ares and Circe. It is at this point, reportedly, that he will invite Wonder Woman to ally with him and other metahumans.
However, as everything is just a rumor at this point in time, things must be taken with a grain of salt. Speculations about the movie mentioned above can only be confirmed once "Wonder Woman" hits the theaters on June 2, 2017.
