'Wonder Woman's' Gal Gadot Set to Host 'Saturday Night Live' in October
Fans of "Wonder Woman" star Gal Gadot are in for a treat next month, as the actress is set to showcase her comedic side as she hosts the Oct. 7 episode of "Saturday Night Live."
The American television show, which is now on its 43rd season, is starting things off on Sept. 30 and will feature "Blade Runner 2049" and "La La Land" star Ryan Gosling as host. Joining him in his hosting stint is musical guest Jay-Z. "Saturday Night Live" has yet to reveal the newest additions to its roster after its long-time cast members Vanessa Bayer, Sasheer Zamata and Bobby Moynihan left the show recently.
Meanwhile, the Oct. 7 episode is expected to draw viewers as Gadot showcases her jesting chops on-screen. The actress starred in the breakout superhero film of 2017, "Wonder Woman," which did very well in the global box office. The movie also earned the DC Extended Universe some of its best reviews in history. Many attribute the success of the film to its lead actress, Gadot, whose portrayal of Diana of Themyscira/Wonder Woman was highly acclaimed by critics around the world.
Since the success of "Wonder Woman," Gadot has continued moving forward with her career, and her upcoming "Saturday Night Live" stint is the most recently confirmed of her gigs so far. According to reports, it will be the second time a "Wonder Woman" cast member will host the show after Chris Pine had his turn back in May. The show also confirmed on its Twitter page that following Gadot, "Silicon Valley" star Kumail Nanjiani will host the Oct. 14 episode of the show, with Pink as the musical guest.
Currently, Gadot is preparing for her next DCEU film, "Justice League," which will hit movie theaters in November. The sequel to her "Wonder Woman" movie is also in development.
