'World of Tanks' Xbox One Version Finally Arrives for Gamers

Good news for current generation Xbox gamers. The "World of Tanks" has expanded to Xbox One, over a year after it was introduced to the Xbox 360 in February 2014. The massively multiplayer online video game can now be played on the Xbox One.

The game which was developed by Wargaming, a Belarusian-Cypriot game development company is free to play, but also offers premium play for a fee for players who have the cash to burn. Gameplay features player vs. player, which each player commanding his choice of armored vehicle, be it a Light, Medium or Heavy tank, a tank destroyer or a self-propelled gun.

According to a Tech Times report, aside from being available for the Xbox One, the game is also now able to support cross-platform play. This meant that those playing on the Xbox One can play with those using the Xbox 360 consoles. The game is still free to play provided that you have an Xbox Live Gold membership. If one only has a Basic membership however, only a seven-day trial is on offer.

The game was made available for download on the Xbox One starting July 28. Cross-platform support is particularly useful in registration and voice chat features of the game. This meant that players can log into their accounts on either the Xbox One or the Xbox 360, as well as use voice chat to "yell encouragement at one another across the two consoles."

Either way, Microsoft ensures players that all their "hard-earned vehicles, XP, Silver and Premium time on your existing Xbox Live account will be carried over" regardless of what console they use to log into.

The Xbox One version of the game however brings with it some improvements compared to its Xbox 360 version. It has better and "prettier" graphics, and its physics engine, according to the report has been "updated to add to the complexity of its damage system."

This new version also features a "proving ground," which serves as a training ground for newbie players, where they are given "the time and low-stress space needed to get good."
