'World Of Tanks' Running Open Beta For PS4 From December 4-6
Game developer Wargaming wants owners of PlayStation 4 consoles to join the battle in "World of Tanks." The popular, free-to-play tank action shooter game is conducting an open beta for the PS4 console from December 4 to 6, according to a report in Tech Times.
The report said that no purchase is necessary to join the open beta as PS4 owners only need to download the game on their console and join the battle. Gameplay features 15 vs. 15 battles between players and the different tanks they choose to battle with.
Details on how to join the beta were also cited in the report. Once the game is downloaded, players need to select which nation they want as the maker of their tank and they can select from the U.S., Russia, Germany, China, among others. After this, players then need to select what type of tank they want to use in battle: light tank, medium tank, heavy tank, artillery or tank destroyer. Players can then go into battle, which happens after a player is matched via the game's matchmaking function.
When teams win matches, they acquire points, which are useful when upgrading tanks, purchasing new vehicles, as well as getting supplies, equipment and other useful items.
Those who participate in the beta get to keep XP, achievements and acquired vehicles even when the beta period has passed. Special awards await those who become beta-testers such as a one-of-a-kind PS4 premium tank with a PS-themed skin, as well as an M22 Locust premium tank with a special emblem.
The game's PS4 version will also have exclusive content when it is launched, which is said to include free "Girls und Panzer" stuff. It will also bring the largest map ever designed for the game as well as another surprise map.
No definite date has been given yet for the release of the game for PS4 consoles.
