'World of Warcraft' News: Next Expansion To Be Titled 'Battle of Azeroth'
During this year's BlizzCon, game developer Blizzard Entertainment has announced the next and highly anticipated expansion for "World of Warcraft." Titled "Battle of Azeroth," the expansion is set to bring the fans back to where it all began, which was the conflict between the Alliance and the Horde.
"Battle for Azeroth is the conflict at the heart of the franchise of Warcraft." "World of Warcraft" director Alex Afrasiabi told Polygon. "We've had all these starts and stops. We've had all these moments in the history of Warcraft. We've had betrayals and intrigue and every single time, one of these moments has come up. There's this pivotal moment between the Alliance and Horde of 'are they going to clash or not,' and then an enemy makes itself known, and we turn our attention toward that enemy."
Considering that the factions finally triumphed over the demon invasion, it is time for the temporary truce to fall apart and go back to the heart of "World of Warcraft." As such, they will go their own way, and each side will have new allies to entice. For the Alliance, they will be attempting to get the Kil Tiras on their side. On the other hand, the Horde will have Zandalar. The former features the home of Jaina Proudmoore, while the latter is an empire filled with trolls.
Aside from the new continents to explore and the reignited conflict between the Horde and the Alliance, gamers will also be able to take the form of several new and playable Allied Races, each featuring a unique array of abilities. Resources for the impending war can also be collected from Azeroth's Islands of the Great Sea.
"World of Warcraft: Battle of Azeroth" is made to help the fans come together in their own factions in order to incite a sense of community, which may have faded considering the delay of announcements from Blizzard. There is no official release date yet, but fans can tide over the wait with the cinematic trailer for the next expansion.
