'WrestleMania 33' Rumors: Which Match Will End Up as the Main Event?
Matches for the Universal Championship and the WWE Championship are candidates for the 'WrestleMania 33' main event slot
At the end of almost every "WrestleMania" is a big celebration, one that heralds the triumph of a conquering warrior who overcame various obstacles to emerge victorious, which is why that main event slot is always a big deal.
Interestingly enough, however, at this point, it's still unclear which particular wrestler may get that celebration or even just which match may fill that coveted main event slot.
As a recent report from Cageside Seats revealed, the folks over at the WWE have reportedly not settled on which match will get that spot just yet.

With just less than a month left to go before the big event gets underway, now is as good a time as any to think about which match may end up being billed as the main event.
Throughout the years, the main events of "WrestleMania" have typically featured world title matches, and that was the case for last year too.
If that pattern holds then it seems like the WWE has two possibilities to choose from.
One possibility involves the Universal Championship, with the titleholder Goldberg defending it against Brock Lesnar. Now, in terms of name value and mainstream appeal, this match would seem to be deserving of "WrestleMania 33's" main event slot, but there's the small issue of the two wrestlers involved also being viewed as part-timers, meaning they don't show up every week to perform at events.
Plus, both Goldberg and Lesnar are well-established names already, and having them bask in the "WrestleMania" spotlight may not do all that much to make them even more recognizable.
Should the WWE ultimately decide against making the Goldberg vs. Lesnar match for the Universal Championship their main event, then another option is to turn to the WWE Championship and have its defense be the show's final match.
Right now, it appears that current WWE Champion Bray Wyatt and Royal Rumble winner Randy Orton will be included in this title match in some way, with AJ Styles and Luke Harper also appearing as though they may have roles to play.
Almost every other WWE pay-per-view would do well to have a match involving all four competitors as its main event, but whether it still looks as appealing as a "WrestleMania" main event is something the people of the WWE may not have determined just yet.
It is also possible that the main event will feature neither the WWE title nor the Universal Championship and instead feature The Undertaker's annual appearance. The Undertaker is no stranger to "WrestleMania" events, but he will still need another big star to work with if his match is to become the main event.
Fans should get a better idea of what "WrestleMania 33's" main event will be sometime soon, especially since the big event is already set to take place on April 2.
