'WWE 2K17' News: Bill Goldberg To Appear In the Game?
Bill Goldberg has been making headlines recently as one piece of speculation about the semi-retired wrestler is followed by another. Apart from being rumored to stage a comeback on the WWE scene as a possible opponent for The Undertaker on "Wrestlemania 32," speculations claiming that he will be one of the characters to be included in "WWE 2K17" started to surface as well.
As it is only a rumor, it goes without saying that it is yet to be verified. In fact, according to Breathecast, even Goldberg himself acknowledged that speculations about him being part of the next game had reached his ears. Nonetheless, he did not confirm nor deny the veracity of the circulating reports.
"I think I've heard (that rumor)," he said after a fan asked him on his Twitter account if there were negotiations going on between him and 2K, the game's developer, for him to become a part of the game's next version.
In the event that the report is true and not just a mere speculation, Breathecast opined that being involved in the game might just bring Goldberg back into the WWE spotlight and eventually lead him to becoming part of the Hall of Fame.
It was years ago when Goldberg made his last appearance in WWE's "Wrestlemania 20," where he battled Brock Lesnar, with Steve Austin acting as the special guest referee for the match. From then on, Goldberg stayed away from the WWE ring and became a commentator for some MMA events.
While Goldberg's inclusion in the upcoming "WWE 2k17" game is still up in the air, the same thing cannot be said about Low Ki, TJ Perkins, and Kenny King as their presence in the upcoming video wrestling game has already been confirmed. In fact, King even posted on his Twitter account a photo of him wearing a motion capture suit.
Meanwhile, reports of Goldberg staging a comeback to the WWE ring via "Wrestlemania 32" surfaced after Wrestlezone reported that Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter said that he had been told that The Undertaker will take on somebody who is not active as a wrestler anymore.
While he did not discount the possibility that the unnamed Undertaker opponent could be Goldberg, Meltzer believes that it is unlikely, given the semi-retired wrestler's relationship with WWE at this point in time.
