'WWE 2K18' News: 24 GB Download Is Needed to Play the Physical Version

Players may need to secure a microSD card for the day one download

"WWE 2K18" is bringing its squared circle-based action to the Nintendo Switch sometime soon, though fans looking to get it may need to make some preparations first.

A post on Resetera by "Shiggy" showed what was expected to be the cover art for the upcoming Switch title, and along with the image of Seth Rollins and the now familiar logo of the platform, there was a message up at the top part that prospective players need to read.

According to the message, prospective players of the latest "WWE 2K" game for the Switch will need to have at least "a minimum of 24 GB free space" available.

In all likelihood, developers are calling on players to have that space ready because there is a day one download that needs to be completed before they can start enjoying the game itself.

That also likely means that Switch owners will need to have a microSD card with enough space available to handle the sizable day one download for "WWE 2K18."

Upon hearing the news, many fans commenting on the post expressed their disappointment over the memory requirement. There are also those fearing that this will become a trend for upcoming Switch games.

Another 2K Sports title, "NBA 2K18," required something similar when it was released for Nintendo's newest platform, and there is a good chance that future "NBA 2K" and "WWE 2K" installments will again arrive with big day one downloads.

One more thing worth noting about the Switch version of the newest "WWE 2K" offering is that it will only be able to support a maximum of six characters appearing onscreen simultaneously, according to a post on the game's official website. The other versions of this game can support up to eight wrestlers showing up onscreen at the same time.

Developers have also yet to finalize a release date for the Switch version of "WWE 2K18," though it is expected to arrive this fall.
