'WWE 2K18' News: Devs Detail the Different Fighting Styles Set To Be Made Available When Creating Characters

Players will be able to choose from eight different fighting styles for their created characters

"WWE 2K18" will allow players to create detailed characters. Several aspects of a character's appearance can be adjusted to fit into the specific preferences of a player, but beyond those, there are other things that fans can tinker with.

Developers are adding more character creation elements to the upcoming game, including several ones that will directly affect how the wrestlers can work inside the ring.

First off, developers are going to ask players to choose a specific fighting style for their created character to use.

Eight fighting styles will be included in the game, according to a post on the game's official website.

Those who want to emphasize physicality during matches may want to look into the Brawler style, while Giant characters excel at showing off their power. High Flyers use their speed and agility to land devastating attacks, and those who create Powerhouses will be able to overwhelm their opponents.

"WWE 2K18" players can also create Showboats who have excellent stamina, and then there are the Strikers who do their best work while standing and exchanging blows with their foes. Strong Style fighters can also be developed and they are capable of executing some hard-hitting moves. Lastly, the Technician fighting style will be appealing to those who prefer the classic style of wrestling.

Notably, there are pros and cons for each fighting style, so players will want to find which one works best for them.

Once players have picked out the fighting style they want for their created character, they can then improve different things like the wrestler's attributes, abilities and skills.

Improving attributes will also lead to the overall rating of a created character going up.

The fighting style chosen will also impact which abilities and skills are available for created wrestlers.

Fans will be able to create wrestlers according to their preferences as soon as "WWE 2K18" is released for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One on Oct. 17 and for the Nintendo Switch also sometime this fall.
