'WWE 2K18' News: PC Version Coming Out Oct. 17, Nintendo Switch Edition Still Without Exact Release Date
PS4 and Xbox One versions also set to be released on Oct. 17
The developers of "WWE 2K18" issued a somewhat surprising announcement recently and revealed that the PC version of the game will be released on Oct. 17, the same day that the PS4 and Xbox One versions will also hit stores.
The reason for why that announcement caught more than a few people off guard is because PC releases of "WWE 2K" have not been made available on the same day as their console counterparts in recent years.
"WWE 2K15" hit consoles in October of 2015 and a PC release followed in March. "WWE 2K17" was released for consoles in October of 2016 and then made its way to the PC in February of this year.
It is unclear why the developers have opted to move up the PC release this time around, though gamers who prefer that platform will likely not be complaining.
Notably, PC players will not be able to take advantage of the four-day early access offer, though those who pre-order "WWE 2K18" will still get the two versions of Kurt Angle, according to a recent post on the game's official website.
Interestingly enough, there is still one more variant of the game expected to be made available beyond the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions, but thus far, an exact arrival date for it has not been announced.
This other variant is the one coming to the Nintendo Switch.
All that developers have revealed so far with regards to the arrival of the Switch variant is that it will take place sometime in the fall. Given that no exact release date has been provided at the moment for the Switch edition, it seems likely that it will be made available after the PC, PS4 and Xbox One versions have already made their way to stores.
More news about "WWE 2K18" should be made available in the near future.
