'WWE 2K18' News: Release Date, Gameplay, MyCareer Mode, and Plot
Developed by Visual Concepts, "WWE 2K18" is one of the most highly anticipated sports video games of the year. With only over a couple of weeks to go before its final release, fans are grappling for all information available on the features, gameplay, and modes that will be available on "WWE 2K18." Thus, to help tide over the anticipation and the excitement, here is everything to know about the upcoming game title.
The latest installment in the 2K universe features a lot of highlights, including improved graphics to keep up with modern technology, MyCareer Mode, and support for having at most eight characters in a match at the same time. It will also have the largest roster of playable characters at 180 superstars waiting to be chosen by the fans. Furthermore, it will also have Road to Glory mode, which is where players will be asked to complete various kinds of tasks during a match.
"This year, we sort of shifted back to telling a narrative, so a lot of that is going to happen backstage," "WWE 2K18" game director Ramel Balesta told GameSpot. "You're going to be talking to superstars, getting into rivalries with them backstage, and then you might want to ambush them backstage during the storyline and stage a backstage brawl and take them over to the limousine and hit them over there."
Meanwhile, Forbes hopes that "WWE 2K18" will fall short in rivalry logic, poor commentary, and the amount of pushes or boosts that will be available throughout the campaign. Although these issues might be attributed to the lack of details given the game's website, fans are hoping that the developers have found a way to work around the issue they had in the previous installments.
"WWE 2K18" is scheduled to be released on Oct. 17 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows PC, and Nintendo Switch.
