'WWE 2K18' News: Upcoming Game Expected to Feature New Championship Belts
Numerous classic championship belts will also be included in the game
Over the past year or so, a bunch of new championship belts have been featured on WWE television, and as soon as "WWE 2K18" is released, wrestling fans will be given access to them as well.
Spotted recently by Just Push Start, the "@WWEGreatGames" Facebook account shared some pictures showing which championships are expected to be included in the new wrestling game.
The good news for fans is that they will now be able to have some fun with the championship belts introduced in the wake of last year's brand split.
To be more specific, the top prize for the "Monday Night RAW" brand, the Universal Championship, is now expected to be in the game in all its crimson glory.
The set of tag team titles that wrestlers on "RAW" walk around with are in the game as well and they also feature that familiar shade of red.
Notably, it is not just new titles for the "RAW" brand that will be featured inside "WWE 2K18."
The "SmackDown Live" tag team titles will now be made accessible to fans. They look quite similar to the "RAW" tag team titles, though the straps are colored blue.
Players will also be given the "SmackDown Live" Women's Championship that boasts the brand's trademark blue.
Wrestlers for WWE's developmental brand, "NXT," will also be able to claim the new "NXT" Women's title. The redesigned "NXT" Championship is also available.
Since cruiserweights are some of the wrestlers who make up the game's roster, it should come as no surprise that the Cruiserweight Championship has been added too.
The United Kingdom Championship will also be made available for specific wrestlers to win.
Aside from those new championship belts, other title straps being used today will also be featured.
Several other classic championship belts are also in the game, and older wrestling fans will likely appreciate those being included.
Finally, the "WCW" World Heavyweight Championship belt from 1988 has also been added.
"WWE 2K18" is due out for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Oct. 17 and for the Nintendo Switch sometime this fall.
