'WWE Fastlane 2016' News: Match Pairings are Controversial

In less than two weeks, the "WWE Fastlane 2016" is happening and it is very likely that the scheduled wrestling event will stir controversy among the fans days before and after its staging, thanks to its controversial pairs for the matches.

Only on its second edition, this novel concept to advance to "Wrestlemania" will carry on the rules it was built on in 2015. The show's main event, the Triple Threat match, will be the deciding factor as to who will compete in Wrestlemania against Triple H.

However, this early, fans are already debating as to who would win in their respective matches. The Bleacher Report has revealed the list of the matches to be featured on pay-per-view:

Brie Bella vs. Charlotte

WWE officials have tasked Brie Bella to take on Charlotte for the Divas Championship. According to The Bleacher Report, WWE officials might be taking advantage of Brie's being in the spotlight after husband Daniel Bryan's retirement from wrestling. The website also opined Brie may not be the right match for Charlotte and is likely to lose to the reigning champion. In the event that she wins, it will surely be marred with controversies.

Chris Jericho vs. AJ Styles

This scheduled fight is suggestive of a brewing rivalry between the two wrestlers. The Bleacher Report noted that Styles already had a throng of believers when he inked a deal with WWE and these fans are always ready to defend Styles, who is dubbed as "The Phenomenal One." In the event that Styles loses to Jericho, dubbed as "The Lionheart," the outcome will surely not sit well with his fans.

Brock Lesnar vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Roman Reigns for No. 1 Contender Triple Threat Match

The certainty of Reigns going to "Wrestlemania" this year has been in question when it was finally announced that he'd take on Lesnar and Ambrose, who are more popular than he is. The Bleacher Report believes, despite the possibilities that Reigns will win the match, the idea of him winning and taking on Triple H in "Wrestlemania" does not really excite WWE.

Meanwhile, Sports Keeda believes that Ambrose should win the match as his win will surely make headlines and stories even more exciting. One of the reasons cited by the website is that once he comes face to face with Triple H in "Wrestlemania," the latter could later force him to repeatedly defend his title on television and make his life miserable.

"WWE Fastlane 2016" is happening on Feb. 21 at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland and is a pay-per-view event.
