WWE Finn Balor vs. AJ Styles 'TLC' Match News: 'The Demon' Wants to Have a Rematch With 'The Phenomenal One'

Finn Balor took down AJ Styles at "WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs" on Sunday night, and it is believed that this could lead to the Irish wrestler moving into the main event.

Following a back-and-forth exchange where neither Balor or Styles gained any major advantage, the match suddenly took a different turn when the latter missed a 450 splash, according to Bleacher Report.

By the time Styles got back to his feet, Balor gave him a show-stopping running dropkick, which was the prelude to a death blow.

In a video taken after the match, Balor, also known as The Demon, revealed that he has always admired Styles, also known as The Phenomenal One, for the whole duration of his career. However, his opponent apparently took Balor to his limits during their recent match.

More importantly, he said that there should be a rematch.

"I think, without a shadow of a doubt, that the world needs to see Finn Balor versus AJ Styles II," the 36-year-old Irishman told the cameras.

Meanwhile, Brandon Stroud of Uproxx and Robert Littal of Black Sports Online believe that Balor's win was made easier by the sudden removal of Bray Wyatt from the TLC.

"Finn Balor should buy AJ Styles a car for Christmas for giving him his first real wrestling match in a year," Stroud said a tweet, while Littal thought that a match against Wyatt "would have been trash."

Balor was originally scheduled to have a match against Wyatt at TLC. However, a medical issue pushed WWE to replace Wyatt with Styles.

According to Cage Side Seats, the origin to the recent match between Balor and Styles is said to trace back to April of 2014 and the New Japan Pro-Wrestling's (NJPW) "Invasion Attack 2014" event, where Balor, who previously went by the name Prince Devitt, made his last appearance in NJPW before he joined WWE.
