WWE News 2015: Batista talks possible WWE return
Former heavyweight world champion Batista is considering another possible WWE run.
The 46-year old professional wrestler had already left the company twice, first in 2010, citing he did not like the direction the WWE was headed back then. He did make a return in December 2013, only to quit once again in June 2014 because of "creative differences" with the company.
In an April report by Geno Mrosko of Cageside Seats, Batista declared his intent to return to professional wrestling, but only to do untelevised events.
"I think I may take that path and try to do untelevised events because the television... you're just too locked in, you're too locked into the scripts, which I don't think are great these days," he said. "I don't want to be locked in, I just want to entertain the fans. So I may try to go that path."
During his time off from the squared circle, Batista ventured into making movies as well. His most recent silver screen appearance was on the latest James Bond film "Spectre", where he plays henchamn Mr. Hinx.
In an interview with Chris Van Vliet for WSVN-TV in Miami to promote the film, Batista also talked about another possible stint with the WWE, where he once again reiterated that he only wanted to do house shows.
"If they would allow me to go back and just do house shows, I'd be all over it," he said." Because then just you skip all the red tape, then you don't have to deal with the creative, the writers—all that bulls**t. You just go back and do your thing, and my thing is wrestling."
Batista did try his hand in other contact sports, particularly mixed martial arts. In October 2012, he made his MMA debut against Vince Lucero under Rhode Island-based promotion company Classic Entertainment and Sports (CES) MMA. He won by first round TKO.
He also holds a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Cesar Gracie.
