WWE News: Bradley Cooper Set to Play Vince McMahon In Upcoming Biopic

A biopic featuring WWE boss Vince McMahon might star Bradley Cooper. Reports say that the actor received a generous offer to star in "Pandemonium," the movie's official title.

Cooper has not yet signed on to the McMahon biopic though but WWE Studios and TriStar pictures have reportedly been wooing the Oscar nominee. The offer was extended several weeks ago but the "American Hustle" star has not yet expressed his interest in the project.

The studios also tapped John Requa and Glenn Ficarra to direct the movie. Their work credits include the NBC hit drama series "This is Us" and the Steve Carrell, Ryan Gosling, and Emma Stone film "Crazy Stupid Love."

Craig Williams ("Underdog") wrote the screenplay to "Pandemonium." While a biopic, the film will also have some dramatic elements to appease what viewers might look for in a potential blockbuster.

The news comes as Forbes reported WWE Studio's struggle in pushing the biopic forward given its financial struggles. Its most recent operations earned the company a modest $700,000 in the second quarter of 2017.

Its earlier attempt to produce "The Call" to launch WWE superstar David Otunga's movie career received decent box office success. The studio, however, is still waiting to hit a goldmine and there's a lot of hope lying on Cooper to agree to play McMahon.

McMahon, WWE's CEO, continues to impact professional wrestling as he has done so for decades. He not only helped make the sports mainstream but he also built a billion-dollar industry with WWE.

In his younger days, McMahon immersed himself on TV via the WWE broadcasts. He showed a persona that either had wrestling fans rooting or booing him in the narratives that famously go with each wrestling event. At one point, McMahon convinced Donald Trump to join him in the wrestling stage to play out one of these narratives.

"Pandemonium" has no theater date for now.
