WWE Raw news 2015: Wayne Rooney makes RAW appearance; WWE 2K16 updates
Manchester United and England national team captain Wayne Rooney made an appearance on Monday Night Raw this week.
In a report by Daily Mail, Rooney's RAW presence was highlighted when slapped WWE superstar Wade Barrett (Stu Bennett in real life). Barrett reportedly accused Rooney of taking a dive during a FA game against Preston North End F.C.
In a video posted by WWE's Twitter page, Barrett, along with tag team partner Sheamus, approached Rooney, who was then situated by the ringside area. After a few verbal exchanges, Rooney slapped "King Barrett", with the latter immediately falling to the ground.
In another interview with WWE.com at the backstage area of the said event, Barrett expressed his reaction regarding the infamous incident.
"Rooney's days are numbered," Barrett said. "If he wants to come to my home and start trouble then I'm going to go to his home of Old Trafford and settle this once and for all."
On Tuesday, Barrett, still reeling from the episode, released a photo tweet of himself, stating he was at the Manchester United's Old Trafford stadium waiting for the football veteran.
"Hanging out in the Old Trafford changing room. Where's @waynerooney at? @ManUtd," he wrote.
Rooney has yet to respond to Barrett's social media posts.
