WWE Rumors: Another Heel Turn Could Be What Ends Up Tearing Apart the Recently Reunited Shield

The initial breakup of The Shield was caused by Seth Rollins betraying Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose

The reunion of The Shield is the biggest angle in the WWE right now, and it has reminded many wrestling fans of just how incredible it was to watch Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins work together many years ago.

Ambrose, Reigns and Rollins share an undeniable chemistry, and if many WWE fans had their way, the group would probably stay together for years or even for the rest of their professional wrestling careers.

The three wrestlers sticking together for a very long time seems unlikely, however, especially since all of them have shown that they can excel as individual performers. One main event match could be a money-maker, but then again, the three of them could be massive draws even separately if they are booked right.

Perhaps those are some of the reasons for why the latest rumors are hinting that this Shield reunion may not last that long.

According to a recent edition of Cageside Seats' "Rumor Roundup," the reunion may not last beyond the end of 2017.

There are even new rumors pointing to how the reunited Shield may be broken up, and it involves a heel turn, according to a recent report from PWMania.

To be more specific, it may be Ambrose turning his back on Reigns and Rollins this time around.

Notably, the first breakup of The Shield was also caused by a betrayal. Back in 2014, it was Rollins who chose to stab both Reigns and Ambrose in the back. That eventually led to Rollins and Ambrose embarking on a feud that lasted for months.

Apparently, the folks at the WWE are pondering going down that same route again. The Ambrose heel turn may even lead to him and Rollins clashing at next year's "WrestleMania."

For those wondering what will happen to Reigns if this breakup plan goes through, rumors from earlier this year have indicated that he will challenge Brock Lesnar at "WrestleMania" for the Universal Championship, and that has apparently not changed.

More news about the latest WWE rumors should be made available soon.
