WWE Rumors: Predicting the Next Matches Kurt Angle Could Be Involved in
Angle already confirmed to be competing at 'Survivor Series'
Kurt Angle's eagerly-anticipated return to in-ring competition seems to finally be here.
Following his surprising return at the "TLC" event, which seemed like it was something that had to be done as opposed to something by design, it now looks like Angle is set to become an active member of the main roster.
On the most recent episode of "Monday Night RAW," in-storyline commissioner Stephanie McMahon named Angle as the team captain for the brand's five-man "Survivor Series" team who will be facing off against five other wrestlers from "SmackDown Live."
While there were earlier rumblings that Angle's "TLC" return could just be a one-time thing, that no longer seems to be the case.
In all likelihood, "Survivor Series" will also not mark the end of Angle's comeback.
As a recent edition of Cageside Seats' "Rumor Roundup" noted, Angle is also expected to be involved in the other "Big 4" events on the WWE calendar.
After the "Survivor Series," the "Royal Rumble" is the next event on WWE's "Big 4" calendar, and it is easy to imagine him appearing as one of the competitors in the 30-man, over-the-top elimination match.
The more intriguing question though is which opponent could Angle face at next year's "WrestleMania?"
With The Undertaker widely expected to be absent from the 2018 edition of "WrestleMania," Angle's return may have happened at just the right time for the WWE, as he is another in-ring legend who could star in a big match on the card.
If the folks at the WWE want to use Angle's star power to build up a younger member of the roster, then perhaps they could have him face someone like Bray Wyatt, Finn Balor or even his in-storyline illegitimate son Jason Jordan.
Another option available to the decision-makers at the WWE is to tap into Angle's past by pitting him against an old rival such as Samoa Joe, for instance.
Angle is finally back after not competing in the WWE for such a long time, and wrestling fans may be seeing him in the ring more often in the near future.
