WWE Rumors: Samoa Joe to Be Involved in New Feud? Is Summer Rae Quitting?

A new week means a new batch of WWE matches, new feuds, wrestlers looking to return to the ring; plus a wrestler looking to quit? Here's a brief roundup of this week's WWE rumors.

Starting with the WWE "SmackDown" side of things, it looks like there's a possible set of matches being brewed up for the upcoming "Survivor Series" this early, according to Cageside Seats. Top bets for "Survivor," at least as of this time, include a possible Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn team-up versus Shane McMahon and AJ Styles.

Summer Rae has been dropping hints on social media, and her continuing lack of TV appearances are leading fans to speculate that, perhaps, Rae is done with WWE.

All eyes, however, are mostly still on Samoa Joe and what's in store for his return after recovering from an injury. The submission specialist has been out of the ring since late August, due to a minor hit to the knee he took during a WWE live event, according to Fansided's Daily DDT.

Joe is due to be back sometime between Sep. 29 and Oct. 13, so fans can expect to see him again putting the hurt on someone pretty soon. By the time he comes back, however, the remaining top feuds for him to bank on could be very limited.

With the TLC pay-per-view event coming up, all major stars have been booked in some way or another, with the exception of Braun Strowman. Provided that Joe makes it back before TLC, fans can brace themselves for another round of the two going at it.

If Joe comes back post-TLC, however, that opens up the possibility of a feud with Finn Balor. Although Balor could be going up against Brock Lesnar for the "Survivor Series," that still has a chance to fall through, with the best alternative being a fresh and healthy Joe.

Elsewhere, Asuka is expected to deal with Emma or Alicia Fox at the upcoming TLC PPV. Barring that, she can also team up with Bayley and Sasha Banks for a three versus three against Emma, Fox, and Nia Jax.
