WWE Rumors: Shield Reunion Apparently Does Not Mean 'WrestleMania' Plans Have Changed for Roman Reigns
Reigns-Brock Lesnar title match for next year's 'WrestleMania' expected to still take place
The most recent episode of "Monday Night RAW" finally featured The Shield reunion that numerous wrestling fans have been waiting for.
It was an incredible event. And even though more than a few fans were expecting it to take place, judging by the reactions from the folks in the arena and people online, the reunion was still a big hit.
Currently, the reunited Shield is now scheduled to take on current Intercontinental Champion The Miz, Sheamus and Cesaro of The Bar as well as Braun Strowman at the next WWE pay-per-view known as "TLC."
That main event is one that is eagerly anticipated by many wrestling fans, and in all likelihood, they will be cheering for The Shield to come out on top, which is noteworthy because of one particular member of the faction.
In recent months and even years, Shield member Roman Reigns has been the subject of the fans' ire and is a wrestler many view as one undeserving to be the face of the WWE.
Which is what makes what happened on "RAW" so interesting as many fans seemingly set aside their dislike for Reigns to cheer for the reformed Shield.
Those cheers may not last for long, however.
Speaking recently to The LAW: Live Audio Wrestling, noted industry insider Dave Meltzer indicated that The Shield reunion may be a way to get Reigns from point A to point B, with point A being now and point B being that long rumored "WrestleMania 34" match with current Universal Champion Brock Lesnar.
Wrestling fans have made it very clear that they would prefer not to see Reigns in the main event and chasing the world title yet again. It will be interesting to see if this Shield reunion will change how fans react to Reigns and if they will become more open to him being crowned as the top guy in the wake of this significant event.
For now, fans can continue to savor this reunion, and they may really want to do that, as the year ahead could feature Reigns getting the top billing by himself again.
