WWE Survivor Series 2017 News, Matches Schedule: Roman Reigns Replaced by Jason Jordan
It looks like Roman Reigns will not be able to return in time for the WWE Survivor Series.
The Big Dog was unable to fulfill the dream of many to see the long-awaited The Shield reunion due to a viral infection that is spreading the in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) locker room. Reigns is still apparently recuperating so WWE is going with their Plan B.
This backup plan involves Jason Jordan taking Reigns' place on Team RAW with the concept that team captain Kurt Angle and his "son" will be fighting on the same side for the first time. However, it looks like this idea is not enough to compensate for the absence of Reigns.
Jordan and Angle will join Finn Balor, Samoa Joe and Braun Strowman in the team to take on Team Smackdown including commissioner Shane McMahon, Bobby Roode, Shinsuke Nakamura, Randy Orton and AJ Styles or Rusev.
Angle announced the change of plans in the latest taping for WWE Raw in Manchester, but fans did not take the announcement well as hinted in a post on Twitter.
Jordan recently took part and defeated Elias in the first Guitar on a Pole match in almost 20 years. The last one took place in 1998 featuring Jeff Jarrett and Steve Blackman.
Angle's team at the WWE Survivor Series is not the only one undergoing some changes. It is being rumored that James Ellsworth might be taking over for Becky Lynch in the women's 5-on-5 Traditional Elimination Match at the event, at least this is what he hopes to do.
Ellsworth will try to prove that he is the rightful captain of the team by attempting to beat Lynch at the Manchester show of Smackdown. He tweeted out:
Becky really shouldn't be the captain for #TeamSmackdown at #SurvivorSeries so if I win at #SDLiveManchester I should be captain...
WWE Survivor Series will take place Nov. 19.
