'X-Men Apocalypse' movie spoilers: Patrick Stewart to make a cameo? Quicksilver is indeed Magneto's son

Fans of the "X-Men" franchise are excited about the upcoming movie "X-Men Apocalypse," which is the sequel of "X-Men Days of Future Past."

On that note, will Patrick Stewart be making a cameo in the new movie? Fans think it's a possibility since director Bryan Singer posted a picture with Stewart on Instagram when the actor visited the set.

The movie will take place 10 years after Days of Future Past in 1983, and it will feature younger versions of iconic characters like Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Nightcrawler, and Angel.

It will show familiar faces, as well as some new ones. Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, and Lucas Till are returning to reprise their roles. Oscar Issac, Olivia Munn, Lana Candor, Sophie Turner, Ty Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, and Kodi Smit-McPhee will be joining the cast.
The main plot of the new movie revolves around the awakening of Apocalypse, an ancient and immortal mutant and his four horsemen.

Apocalypse is out to destroy the world and yet wants to recruit Professor X to join his forces. Of course, the good professor refuses to do so as he and Mystique create a new team of superheroes that will eventually lead to an epic mutant versus mutant battle.

Director Brian Singer said that "this movie is about how the X-Men truly started."

Meanwhile, Jennifer Lawrence said that "my character will be more Raven than Mystique," implying that she won't be as bad in the new film.

In some film stills from the set, fans can see Charles, Hank, Alex, Raven, and Rose as they convene inside Cerebro. In another photo, a young Storm is seen and there is a still of Raven and Quicksilver looking ready for battle. There are also photos of Nightcrawler and Jubilee, as well as photos of a young Jean Grey and Cyclops who will be introduced. Lastly, there is a photo of Magneto.

The movie will also see the return of another old villain from the X-Men franchise, Colonel William Stryker, as well as the return of Quicksilver who was last seen in Days of Future Past. Evan Peters teased fans about a bigger and better appearance in the new movie.

It has been confirmed that Quicksilver is indeed Magneto's son and that fans will get to see some father and son bonding scenes in the movie. It is widely known that Magneto will become one of the four horsemen of Apocalypse, so Quicksilver might help Charles fight his father or he might be on a quest for redemption.

X-Men Apocalypse will premiere on May 27, 2016.
