'X-Men: Apocalypse' News: Olivia Munn Previews Psylocke's Fighting Abilities (VIDEO)
"X-Men: Apocalypse" director Bryan Singer has kept audiences updated on the film with teaser images on social media, which have been eclipsed only by Olivia Munn's posts.
With the "X-Men: Apocalypse" premiere date drawing near, director Bryan Singer has kept fans thirsting for more after regularly posting images on his Twitter account showing his actors and scenes from the movie's set.
Strangely unsatisfying as his posts have been, one of his stars has also been giving updates on the progress of the movie, uploading videos to her Instagram, and giving "X-Men" audiences a foretaste of action scenes to come.
Olivia Munn, who plays one of the villain Apocalypse's horsemen, Psylocke, underwent rigorous training in martial arts and sword fighting to prepare for the role and she has posted those videos on her Instagram feed showing what may or may not be actual action sequences that will be included in the movie.
Her character, Psylocke, a telekinetic mutant who is described as strong, lethal, and powerful, is skilled in martial arts, telepathy and mind control. In the comics version, she is described as having bionic eyes and teleportation abilities.
Olivia Munn's Instagram has shown her training constantly throughout the movie's production, and she has posted some of the difficult tricks she has learned while attempting to duplicate Psylocke's fighting abilities.
She began with videos showing herself as a beginner, following an instructor's moves with a stick. In a few short months, she posted clips showing her advancement to a higher level of swordsmanship, including some fast-paced sparring and kicking with a female instructor.
One of her Instagram post depicts her somersaulting on wires while grasping Psylocke's weapons of trade, showing just how far she has come in her quest to become the telekinetic mutant and trumping even Singer's Twitter posts with her character's action sequences.
"X-Men: Apocalypse" is scheduled to premiere in theaters on May 27, 2016.
