'X-Men: Apocalypse' News: Simon Kinsberg Teases Post-Credit Scene on Upcoming Film
Writer of upcoming 'X-Men' film says that the movie will give hints to new 'X-Men' projects such as 'Wolverine 3' and 'Gambit.'
With the release of "X-Men: Apocalypse" fast approaching, the writer of the upcoming movie Simon Kinberg teased the post-credit scene of the film.
Superhero movies have started that trend of revealing post credit scenes in order to tease the upcoming new projects of the franchise. With that, there has been a lot of excitement regarding "X-Men: Apocalypse," since it was hinted during the post credit scenes of "X-Men: Days of Future Past."
Fans have been anticipating the new "X-Men" film, as it is expected to bring an iconic villain to the big screens. "X-Men: Apocalypse" could usher in a new phase for the "X-Men" franchise, since the popular "X-Men" character were recently re-casted with younger actors.
According to Collider, Kinberg explained that the upcoming post credit scene will give fans a look into the future of the franchise. He said that it will open the doors to the new projects lined up for "X-Men." He said, "It's a nod toward potentially a lot of different movies. I mean certainly the Wolverine movie is related to what happens at the end of it, but there's also another character that's introduced, at least in name, in the tag [another term for a post-credits scene] and he could show up in any host of different X-Men films."
Kinberg also hinted that the post credit scene could also reveal some details about the upcoming "Gambit" film. Previous reports indicated that Channing Tatum was going to take on the fan favorite "X-Men" character. However, the production for the film is not expected to start until later this year.
Meanwhile, fans will see several stellar stars in the upcoming film. "X-Men: Apocalypse" will bring the cast of the previous films, as well as new additions such as Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Ben Hardy as Angel, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Olivia Munn as Psylocke and Lana Condor as Jubilee.
Fans can catch "X-Men: Apocalypse," as well as the post credit scene, this May 27.
