With that, it was reported that the director of the film, Bryan Singer, also shared details about the upcoming film during the San Pedro International Film Festival.

He explained that "X-Men: Apocalypse" might be the longest "X-Men" film. However, he reassured fans that while it will be long, it will definitely not be boring.

He mentioned that the length of the film is due to the many story lines and new characters on the upcoming film. The film will feature stars such as James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult, who will be reprising their characters from the previous film. "X-Men: Apocalypse" will also be introducing younger versions of some well-known "X-Men" characters. With that, new actors are expected to join the cast.

Singer stated, "There's new characters, young characters, rekindled romances like with [Charles] Xavier and Moira MacTaggert played by Rose Byrne who is amazing. Michael Fassbender did something so wonderful in this movie...We're at the end of the scene, and he asked me not to call cut and when the scene was over, he continued and did something that made me cry in the tent; I've never done that before."

"X-Men: Apocalypse" is expected to premiere in theaters by May 2016.
