Xbox Game Pass vs. PlayStation Now: Xbox Pass Dubbed 'Better' Than Sony's Streaming Service

Microsoft has just announced the arrival of its Xbox Game Pass and analysts are starting to compare the new service with PlayStation Now (PS Now). It appears that some gaming enthusiasts prefer Microsoft's new gaming service.

According to Slash Gear, Microsoft offers the Xbox Game Pass at $9.99 per month. This will allow subscribers to play Xbox One games in full. The best part is, fans can download some of the games.

On the other hand, PlayStation Now does not allow fans to keep the games they're playing through the service. While numerous players have enjoyed the service for some time now, it appears that more enthusiasts are getting interested in the new gaming service from Microsoft.

Geek notes that one of the big differences the Xbox Games Pass has over PlayStation Now is pricing. PS Now comes at $19.99 per month. For those who prefer to opt in for three months, the price tag is $44.99.

There are numerous games to choose from. The titles will be cycled every now and then so fans can choose from a variety of developers and publishers. Some of the games included in the Xbox Games Pass come from 2K, Capcom, Deep Silver, Bandai Namco and many more.

Testing for Xbox Game Pass has kicked off. The testing committee will be chosen from members of the Alpha Review circle and the Xbox Insider Program. Unfortunately, the pass is only available for Xbox One owners at this time. It remains to be seen if Microsoft will extend its reach to other platforms in the near future.

Meanwhile, Engadget reported last month that PlayStation Now will no longer be available for PlayStation Vita, PlayStation TV, PlayStation 3, Sony Bravia TV, and Sony Blu-ray players. Sony will also stop providing the streaming service for Samsung smart TVs that access the service.

PlayStation Now will only be available for PC and PlayStation 4 owners. The Xbox Game Pass, on the other hand, is expected to be available for other platforms in the long run.
