Xbox Games with Gold April 2017 Free Games: Four Games Revealed; 'Evolve Ultimate Edition' Until April 15
It is finally April, which means another slew of titles have been made available for free as part of Xbox Games with Gold. Subscribers to the Xbox Live Gold program can enjoy "Ryse: Son of Rome," "The Walking Dead: Season 2," "Darksiders" and "Assassin's Creed: Revelations" this month.
As previously reported, Xbox One players will have access to "Ryse: Son of Rome" and "The Walking Dead: Season 2," with the former available now until April 30 and the latter available from April 16 to May 15.
Xbox 360 players, on the other hand, are treated to "Darksiders" and "Assassin's Creed: Revelations," with the former available now until April 15 and the latter available from April 16 to 30. Both of these titles will be playable on the Xbox One as well via the Backward Compatibility feature.
Crytek's "Ryse: Son of Rome," which usually retails for $19.99, is a third-person hack and slash game that features an alternate version of Rome where players control Marius Titus. And while the game was met with mixed to positive response, it does boast an engaging story and impressive graphics.
Telltale Games' "The Walking Dead: Season 2," originally priced at $24.99, is a continuation of the first season and follows Clementine, a returning character. The choices that the player-controlled Clementine makes have direct impacts on the gameplay and surrounding world. The decisions that were made in "Season 1" also have an effect on "Season 2," following an episodic format.
Normally priced at $19.99, Vigil Games' "Darksiders" follows War, one of the Apocalypse's Four Horsemen. It is a third-person RPG hack and slash game that also features puzzles and exploration.
Finally, Ubisoft's "Assassin's Creed: Revelations" is an action-adventure open world game that revolves around Ezio as he becomes a master assassin in a fictional world where Assassins and Templars feud.
"Evolve Ultimate Edition," which is a part of March's list of free games, will still be available until April 15.
