Xbox Games With Gold for October 2014 List: Battlefield 2, Darksiders 2 and More
Xbox Games with Gold users in October 2014 will be able to get several games for free or at great discounts if they act soon enough. Both owners of the Xbox One and Xbox 360 can use their gold membership to get access to great titles Battlefield 2, according to reports.
Those with the Xbox 360 will get great choices for games with gold in October 2014. The first title available Oct. 1 will be Battlefield: Bad Company 2, the classic first-person shooter that is set in a modern warfare setting. At the time of the 2010 game's release, critics praised the title, with some even saying it was better than its then-rival, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Battlefield is normally $19.99 but will be free with gold membership.
The second title for the month will be Darksiders II, which will take the place of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on Oct. 16. Darksiders II is a hack-and-slash game where the player plays as Death, one of the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse. There are also puzzle elements involved in the game requiring critical thinking, not just mindless button-mashing. Darksiders II is priced at $59.99, but will be free for the last two weeks of October with gold membership.

Disappearing from games with gold in October 2014 will be Halo: Reach, a classic Xbox 360 title priced at $25. It's currently free for September, and because it won't be included in the upcoming Halo: Master Chief Collection, its definitely a game to grab while you still can.
For those who own the Xbox One, Chariot, a co-op action platform game from Canadian developer Frima Studios, will be made available for free. Although the title isn't an exclusive because its coming to PlayStation 4, Wii U and the PC, Xbox One owners with gold membership get an advantage as its free.
Xbox One owners will still have access to Crimson Dragon, a shooter that lets players ride a dragon and the sort-of successor to Panzer Dragoon.
Other games that will be discounted for Xbox One and 360 owners include: Valiant Hearts, LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game, Metro Last Night and Metro 2033.
