Xbox Games With Gold Free Games April 2017: List Officially Unveiled, Includes 'Ryse: Son of Rome' and 'Darksiders'
Microsoft has announced the list of free games coming in April 2017 as part of the Xbox Games With Gold program. Xbox Live Gold subscribers have four new games to look forward to starting April 1.
Two games each for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 are planned. "Ryse: Son of Rome" and "The Walking Dead: Season 2" will be released on the Xbox One. Originally priced at $19.99, "Ryse: Son of Rome" will be available for free from April 1 to 30, while "The Walking Dead: Season 2," which usually retails for $24.99, will be available from April 16 to May 15.
"Darksiders" and "Assassin's Creed: Revelations" will make their way to the Xbox 360 for free next month. "Darksiders" will be available during the first half of the month, from April 1 to 15. "Assassin's Creed: Revelations," on the other hand, will be free to download from April 16 to 30. Both titles have an estimated retail price of $19.99.
Thanks to Xbox's Backward Compatibility feature, players on the Xbox One can also download and play "Darksiders" and "Assassin's Creed: Revelations." However, only Xbox Live Gold subscribers have access to these free games.

As for the rest of March, subscribers can still play "Layers of Fear" and "Heavy Weapon" until the end of the month. "Evolve Ultimate Edition," which was made available on March 16, will still be available until April 15.
April is definitely shaping up to be an exciting month for Xbox Live Gold subscribers. The four games have all received critical acclaim and offer different forms of gameplay. "Ryse: Son of Rome" is more immersive and features a third-person action-adventure story that centers on the Roman soldier Marius Titus. "The Walking Dead: Season 2," on the other hand, places the player in a post-apocalyptic world riddled with zombies.
Meanwhile, "Darksiders" is an action-RPG game that focuses on War as he battles his way through angels and demons who believe that War is the reason for the Earth's end. Finally, "Assassin's Creed: Revelations" follows Ezio as he searches for the secrets to becoming a master assassin.
