Xbox One and Xbox 360 Free Multiplayer This Weekend: The Games, Details and Promotions
Rocket League Can Also Be Played for Free During the Weekend
Multiplayer will be free for Xbox One and Xbox 360 users this coming weekend, the first time such promo is offered for these consoles.
All members of Xbox Live, even without Gold membership, will be able play on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 all games for free, Major Nelson noted.
Xbox One and Xbox 360 players can grab these deals from June 9 to June 12, 2016 (Thursday to Sunday) only.
The promotion was estimated by Polygon to cost around $30 for three months or an equivalent of $60 for an entire year. This is a big saving for gamers who love to play various games on these consoles.
Aside from this great offering, players can also enjoy Rocket League for free during the same period. The Psyonix game launched on the PlayStation 4 and PC in July last year. It also debuted on the Xbox One earlier in February.
On the game's official website, Psyonix vice president of marketing and communications Jeremy Dunham also announced the good news for all its players. "This weekend, we're partnering up with our friends at Microsoft to give players of all Xbox Live membership levels FREE access to Rocket League on Xbox One," he added.
Dunham explained that this offer is open for all and will not matter if they have a Silver or Gold subscription. However, he highlighted that the game will on be free for the mentioned duration and will not anymore be accessible after the weekend except for those who will purchase it.
Players planning to buy the game for this weekend will enjoy a 10 percent discount. It means they will only have to pay $17.99 to purchase Rocket League for the Xbox One.
According to Tech Times, this is not the first time that the game was offered for gamers to play for free. The same promotion was given last April on Steam with the game developer offering a 40 percent discount for the game.
Then beginning Sunday, all members of Xbox Live Gold can access games from the EA Access library and play them for free until June 22.
Engadget explained that gamers can save $5 per month or about $30 per year because of this promo. They can play awesome games like Dead Space, Titanfall, Madden NFL 16, FIFA 16 and Battlefield.
