Xbox One Backwards Compatibility News: 'Red Dead Redemption' Leaked As Backwards Compatible
The open-world Western adventure game "Red Dead Redemption" may have been leaked as part of Microsoft Xbox One's Backwards Compatibility program. This piece of news is great news for fans of the Western action adventure game. According to a report in IGN, the game first appeared in a gaming forum as one of the games listed as backwards compatible, together with two other games.
The two other games listed are "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night" and "Tekken Tag Tournament 2." According to the report, users who own a digital copy (and not the physical disc) of the "Red Dead Redemption" will be able to access backwards compatibility.
The IGN report mentioned that users can go download the game which is said to "require some navigation." The report also warned gamers that while downloading the game can be done, it is not yet known if it will constitute a violation of the Terms of Service set by Microsoft, so downloaders will have to take some considerable risk.
"Red Dead Redemption" is a hit video game, having sold over 14 million copies according to the report. It was originally released for the Xbox 360 and PS3 back in May 2010 and has won several awards including "Game of the Year." So it is no wonder why gamers are widely anticipating the game to be part of the Xbox One's Backwards Compatibility program.
The two other games listed are the vampire role-playing game "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night" and the fighting game "Tekken Tag Tournament 2." Another report in VG 24/7 cited gamers who have actually played the said games on their Xbox One.
A new list of games were added to the program last January 22 and it includes: "Aegis Wing," "Age of Booty," "Counter-Strike: GO," "Jeremy McGrath's Offroad," "Sam & Max Save the World," "Skullgirls," "Small Arms," "Soulcalibur," "Space Giraffe" and "The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings."
