'Xenoblade Chronicles 2' News: Devs Introduce Some of the Rare Blades Who Will Be in the Game
Blades will give special powers to the Drivers who bring them to life
"Xenoblade Chronicles 2" will prominently feature the characters known as Drivers and Blades working together.
Drivers are expected to be the main characters, and they are the ones who can bring Blades to life by interacting with Core Crystals.
Numerous Blades are also going to be in the game, and just recently, developers hinted at three specific and rare characters who players may run into as they journey through the world of Alrest.

The first of the three recently revealed Rare Blades is a character by the name of Hotaru, NintendoEverything reported. Probably the most unique aspect of Hotaru is this character's weapon of choice since she is expected to use a ball while fighting enemies, and this character's battle style is built around that unusual weapon.
Next up, developers also introduced players to the Rare Blade Kubira, Siliconera reported. Kubira's attire seems fitting for a member of royalty, and even his weapon seems like it would look at home in the hands of a king. He is an intimidating figure and he will not hesitate to take down anyone who would dare oppose him.
The last of the three Rare Blades revealed recently is Azami. Azami possesses a unique quality that almost borders on being frightening. Beyond just her demeanor, she may also be able to instill fear into her opponents just by pulling out her impressive-looking weapon that somewhat resembles an oversized handgun.
Similar to the other Blades in "Xenoblade Chronicles 2," the Rare Blades are going to give special abilities to the Drivers responsible for bringing them to life.
At this point, it is also unclear just how many Rare Blades are going to be included in the game, so prospective players will want to stay tuned for that.
"Xenoblade Chronicles 2" is set to be released for the Nintendo Switch on Dec. 1.
