'Xenoblade Chronicles 2' News: RPG Gets a Release Date and a Special Edition

Given that they almost reached rock bottom last year, Nintendo is working hard to keep the attention of the fans ever since they made a spectacular comeback in this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).

Currently, the gaming giant seems to be riding their momentum for all its worth as the upcoming open-world role-playing game titled "Xenoblade Chronicles 2" has finally received a release date.

The announcement came by way of the Nintendo Direct which was held last Sept. 13. The broadcast featured the "Super Mario Odyssey" Nintendo Switch bundle that they plan to release next month, as well as what to expect for "Xenoblade Chronicles 2." Like "Super Mario Odyssey," the latest installment of the "Xenoblade Chronicles" series will come in a special bundle specifically made for the loyal fans.

According to reports, "Xenoblade Chronicles 2" for Nintendo Switch will have a limited special edition which will include a copy of the game, its soundtrack, an art book with 220 pages, and a steel book case. Furthermore, the "Xenoblade Chronicles" fandom will receive the chance to purchase a Switch Pro controller that is designed to fit in the universe of the game title. It will be sold separately and it will cost $75.

All the details of the upcoming release were compiled into a video, which focuses on what gameplay and features fans should expect in the sequel to the critically acclaimed RPG released for Wii in 2010.

"Xenoblade Chronicles 2" was developed by Monolith Soft, who is also behind the series of "Xenogears" and "Xenosaga." The developer company is headed by co-founder Tetsuya Takashi. The gameplay for "Xenoblade Chronicles 2" was also featured during this year's Gamescom.

"Xenoblade Chronicles 2" is set to hit the stands on Dec. 1 for Nintendo Switch. Meanwhile, the Xenoblade-themed Switch Pro controller will also be released on the same day.
