Xiaomi Mi 4 Passes FCC Certification, Windows 10 Version Coming Soon?
Privately-owned Chinese electronics company Xiaomi is reported to once again break into the U.S. market with the Mi 4 device.
According to Tech Times, the company's flagship smartphone device finally got approved by the FCC to enter the U.S. market. Not much is known though with the certification so it's hard to tell what to expect with the U.S. version of the smartphone.
But the source detailed that the specs of the Xiaomi Mi 4 which includes a 5-inch IPS display with full 1080p HD support. Under its hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor coupled with 3 GB of RAM and Adreno 330 GPU. Its internal storage options are 16 GB and 64 GB. It runs with a custom version of Google Android called MIUI.

The U.S. version is speculated to carry the same specifications of the device that was released in China in mid-2014, which means that it will sport a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. It's also expected to support 4G LTE and will have an 802.11ac Wi-Fi and a 3080 mAh battery capacity, according to a GSM Arena report. There is no word yet on when the device will likely arrive in the western area but those who are looking out for it can expect it to arrive soon.
In other news, it has been noted that the Windows 10 Mobile is coming to Xiaomi's Mi 4 devices soon. WM Power User reported that a Microsoft Operating System Software Engineer Institute Director posted on Weibo saying that the software will be available to the said device soon. User TheRenaissanceMan wrote, "Thanksgiving Day is around the corner, so is the public release of Windows 10 for Mi 4."
It is then expected that the Windows 10 version of Mi 4 may be unveiled on Nov. 26. Another report from Tech Times indicated that the Microsoft employee is reportedly the one responsible for the OS' development, making the information possibly accurate.
