Xiaomi Mi 6 Release Date, Specs News: 4 GB Version of Flagship Hits TENAA, Set for November Launch

It looks like the Xiaomi Mi 6 is getting a more budget-friendly version.

An iteration of the handset packing 4 GB of random-access memory (RAM) and 64 GB of storage recently made its way to the Chinese certification agency TENAA.

The original Xiaomi Mi 6 that was released back in April came with 6 GB of RAM, which did wonders on the performance of the device especially paired with the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon offering — the 835 processor.

While the tweak will definitely affect the speed of the device, it is still expected to be a snappy smartphone overall since the same chipset is used in this inexpensive version.

The rest of the specs remain untouched such as the 5.15-inch full high-definition (HD) display and the dual camera setup featuring a pair of 13 MP  lenses. On the front is an 8 MP selfie snapper.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 also came with the Android Nougat 7.1 out of the box and a nonremovable 3,350 mAh battery to keep the lights on. It also has a fingerprint sensor and offers Quick Charge 3.0 support that can juice up the phone in less than an hour.

Despite being the only change in the handset, the RAM decrease can significantly lower the price tag ultimately allowing users who have been wanting to enjoy the solid performance of a flagship without breaking the bank to pick it up.

According to GSM Arena, this scaled down Xiaomi Mi 6 variant will come with a price tag of CNY 2,299 or around $350. This is much lower than the 6 GB version available globally, which is priced at $415.

TENAA listings usually indicate that a device is close to its release and the 4 GB version of the Xiaomi Mi 6, per the abovementioned publication, will reportedly made available on Nov. 11.
