Xiaomi Mi Max 2: Benchmark Listing Reveals 4K Video Support and More Specs

A benchmark listing appears to have outed the list of specifications and features of the highly anticipated Xiaomi Mi Max 2, which has been the subject of many reports and leaks in recent times.

A listing on GFX Bench reveals that the new Xiaomi Mi Max, which is codenamed Oxygen, will come with a 6.4-inch full high-definition (HD) display, which is hardly an upgrade of the original, which had the same screen resolution.

On the hardware side, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is shown to have a 2.2 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset with an Adreno 506 graphics processor to boot.

According to GSM Arena, the chipset in question is likely the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660, the follow-up to the Snapdragon 652 used on last year's Xiaomi Mi Max.

Much like its predecessor, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is quite the heavyweight in the memory department with 4 GB random-access memory (RAM) and 128 GB storage.

The imaging department may have received a bit of a downgrade though, at least on paper. On its rear is a 12 MP camera plus a 5 MP front-facing snapper.

The first Xiaomi Mi Max came with a 16 MP shooter on the back with a 5 MP selfie snapper. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2's primary camera, however, gets a boost in the form of an ultra HD or 4K resolution video capture support.

Another notable feature about the device to come out of the benchmark listing is Near-field Communication (NFC) support. Overall, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is shaping up to be an excellent midranger offering from the Chinese tech firm.

Not too long ago, images of the handset found their way online, showing off a bezel-less design. There are virtually no bezels on the sides and the bottom of the Xiaomi Mi Max 2.

This suggests that Xiaomi is going for the 93 percent screen-to-body ratio that they promised. Its predecessor had a 91.3 percent screen to body ratio, but the company is clearly working on surpassing that.

The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is expected to be unveiled later this month.
