Xiaomi Redmi Note Pro 2 Specs: Device Released As Redmi Note 3 Features 5.5-Inch Display, Helio X10 Chipset
The name Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro will not see the light of day as reports say that the device will be called the Redmi Note 3 instead.
According to Gizmo China, the privately-owned Chinese smartphone maker surprised fans when it announced that the Grand Finale event it announced before will introduce the name Redmi Note 3 as the successor of the Redmi Note 2, which was launched back in August. This makes the predecessor one of the shortest product generations.
The name change was confirmed by the new teaser uploaded in the official Weibo and Twitter account of the company, as reported by International Business Times. The teaser image had a caption which is translated as "Major news: next Tuesday released Note3 # # red rice. I think you'll like it." It also included at the bottom the date of unveiling of the device which is on Nov. 24.

GSM Arena also noted that Xiaomi President Lin Bin recently posted a teaser image of the device on his Weibo account. It revealed that the Redmi Note 3 will come with a metallic design and a fingerprint sensor located on the back below the circular lens of the camera.
Other known specs of the device include a 5.5-inch FHD display with 1080 x 1920 pixels screen resolution. A huge 4000 mAh battery pack will be included, which is a step up from its predecessor's 3060 mAh battery. And with a massive battery, the device is expected to be 8.75 mm thick and 165.97 grams heavy.
It will be powered with a 64-bit octa-core Mediatek MT6795 (Helio X10) chipset clocked at 2 GHz. It is expected to come in two variants—a 2 GB of RAM with 16 GB internal storage and a 3 GB of RAM with 32 GB of internal storage. It will also sport a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and a 5-megapixel front camera. Its expected operating system is Android 5.0 Lollipop.
