Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 Release Date: Device Coming This Month, Dual Camera Setup Staying After All
More and more information about the much-awaited Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 comes to the surface as its launch draws closer.
The latest leak reveals that the new Xiaomi Redmi Pro iteration will boast a dual-camera setup, which is one of the smartphone line's main selling points.
Previous reports claimed that the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 is ditching the feature, but it looks like this will not be the case after all. According to the information that came up, the handset will sport two 12-megapixel (MP) sensors.
The same report claims that the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 will be powered by the MediaTek Helio P25 instead of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor.
Should the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 sport a dual-camera setup, it would make sense for the MediaTek Helio P25 to be the processor under the flagship's hood.
MediaTek takes pride in the Helio P25's excellent and tailor-made support for dual cameras. With its 16-nanometer architecture, the processor should allow the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 to deliver high-quality imaging.
It also offers various high-end camera features on top of a power-saving technology, which will make the second-generation Xiaomi Redmi Pro a force to be reckoned with and a joy to use for camera enthusiasts.
The 4 GB random-access memory (RAM) and 6 GB RAM should help with the performance of the device along with their respective 64GB and 128GB storage capacities. Users will get to enjoy the Xiaomi smartphone for long hours, thanks to its 4,500 mAh battery.
In the aesthetics department, users are looking at a premium, all-metal design for the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2. Sitting on top of the display will be a 2.5D curved glass for that extra wow factor.
As for the pricing, the 4 GB version of the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 is at CNY 1,599 or around $231 while the 6 GB version will have a price tag of CNY 1,799 or around $260.
The Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 is expected to be officially unveiled by the end of the month.
