Yolanda Foster Recovering: 'Housewives' Star Underwent Lyme Disease Related Surgery

Yolanda Foster is recovering after undergoing surgery related to Neuro Borrelia Lyme disease, which is a condition that she has struggled with for years.

The "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star reportedly had her port removed on Friday after having it implanted in December. The medical device is inserted below a patient's skin to treat the tick-borne condition.

"Exciting day, getting my port out, xoxo," Foster tweeted ahead of the surgery.

The 49-year-old mother of three struggled with the disease for two years before seeking treatment. Lyme disease can result in symptoms such as depression, skin rash and lapses in brain function which the reality TV star previously complained about on the hit Bravo reality TV show.

On April 16 it was revealed that Foster, who quickly became a fan favorite after joining the show in season three, had been confirmed for season four.

The former model along with her troubled co-star Taylor Armstrong, has already started filming scenes for the new season. It is unclear whether her surgery was captured by Bravo TV cameras.

"Yolanda and Taylor began filming for the fourth season of RHOBH last week. It was a bit of a shock to see Taylor in front of the camera again because the crew thought she was a goner for sure. The viewers just don't like her," a source told RadarOnline.com.

"But, it has been so hard to find replacements for Adrienne Maloof and Camille Grammer, that producers had no choice but to bring her back. Yolanda is quickly becoming a fan favorite because she is becoming the mama bear of the group, and calls the ladies out on their catty ways when necessary," the source added.

Foster is currently married to famed music producer and songwriter David Foster and the couple reportedly lives in Malibu.
